Alternatives to get home:

Take the train to Romanshorn and from there on proceed to the train stop near home, arriving 20 minutes later Take the train to Kreuzlingen main station and hope that there’s a taxi around. Otherwise, walk home, which takes 20 minutes

The first option guarantees that I don’t have to walk very far. With the second one, I can potentially save 15 minutes, but the worst case is that I have to walk 20 minutes in the cold.
